So first blog ever!
Today I'm struggling to push a policy from a CheckPoint Management Server (
caterpillar) and a Checkpoint Firewall (
pinkqueen). This usually easy process is complicated by the fact that caterpillar lives in our internal network and currently manages our Nokia FW (
gabriel). Added the second remote FW, pinkqueen, as an object and established SIC between caterpillar and pinkqueen. But now caterpillar reports an error in pushing the policy to pinkqueen. Our third party tech people have had me running in circles for weeks; upgrading caterpillar, rebuilding policies, applying hotfixes to pinkqueen and nowt, absoloooootely nowt has worked.
So in order to escape the digital madness I had a weekend out in Newcastle and along Hadrians Wall with my camera. It's a Pentax ME Super, bought second hand a few weeks ago and my first film camera. Also own a fuji digital - great fun but nothing more than a point and shoot with a big zoom. You do have a little manual control but a true (even old ME) manual is fantastic. Bought a cheap wide angle lens and a 135mm for 20 quid each! Wide angle is brilliant in town and for landscapes and the 135 is fantastic for portraits. Everyone i know seems to be camera shy and I often get glares when i get close to people. the 135 is perfect for taking a shot from further away.
